State level essay competition

State level essay writing competition was organized by the Zoology department on the occasion of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ on 30th October, 2020. The aim behind conducting this competition was to make the students aware about the importance of national integrity and to work together to develop a better Nation. It also makes them conscious about their role in maintaining it. The Chief Guest of the event was Mrs. Babita Verma Principal, GCW -14 PKL. In her online address she said that such competition gives students a platform where they can put their views. 35 students from different colleges of Haryana participated in it.
The suggested topics of the competition were:
Role of Science in National Integration.
My Contribution for National Integration.
The Challenges in National Building and National Integration.
Elegance in Variance.
Role of Youth in National Integrity.
Digital Integrity.
How to maintain a culture of Integrity during Covid-19 Pandemic.

The total word limit was 800-1000. The judges of the competition were Dr. Sarvjeet Kaur, Mrs. Vandana and Mrs. Charanjeet kaur. The decision regarding the winners was made on the basis of following criteria:
Relevance to the topic
Accuracy and clarity of the message
Neatness
Economy of words
The First, Second, Third and Consolation prizes were given. Winners were honored with cash prize and certificate. Every participant was honored with the certificate. As the program was organized by virtual presentation students’ certificates and prizes were delivered to their respective colleges.
