The National Cadet Corps (NCC)
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a Voluntary Organisation, which is administered through the Ministry of Defence. NCC is the largest uniformed youth organization. Its motto is 'Unity and Discipline'. In living up to its motto, the NCC strives to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of the country and moulding them into united, secular and disciplined citizens of the nation.
In India, The NCC was formed under the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. It can be traced back to the "University Corps", which was created under the Indian Defense Act 1917, with the objective to make up for the shortage in the Army. The National Cadet Corps is the youth wing of Armed Forces with its Headquarters at New Delhi, Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on a voluntary basis. National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Wing, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens.
Govt. PG College for Women, Sector-14, Panchkula started the "National Cadet Corps Unit" for Girls in 2010 under the 1 Har Girls NCC Battalion, Ambala Cantt. with a sanctioned strength of 53. College offers 'B' and 'C' certificates for Senior wing (SW) cadets.
National Service Scheme(NSS)
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service.
To realise this aim 2 units with 100 volunteers in each have been created in our college.
Regular activities:
Adoption of Villages :
a) Contacting of the village and area of project.
b) Survey of the village and area of project.
c) Identification of problems.
d) Completion of project.
e) Evaluation of project.
2. Adoption of Slum Area:
a) Survey of Slum Area.
b) Services in Slum (improvement of life & living conditions).
c) NSS Volunteers for Slum work (matured & skilled students)
3. Coordination with Voluntary Organisations
4. National Service Volunteer Scheme:
NSVS work on the pamphlets on youth programmes published by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports & Nehru Yuva Kendra.

which is of 7-days' duration under the following themes:
a) Youth Against Dirt & Disease
b) Youth for Rural Reconstruction
c) Youth for Eco-Development
d) Youth for Mass Literacy
e) Youth for National Integration & Social Harmony
f) Healthy Youth for Healthy India.
