Report of Mentor Mentee meetings (session 2021-2022)

Mentoring is a partnership between Mentor and Mentee. Mentors are student-centric teacher/friends, who help young adult learners in their transitory phases and challenging times.It is based on mutual trust and respect.It has been introduced for obtaining a holistic assesment of the learners’ performance and providing inclusive spaces for growth and development.Mentors apply their guidance,experience and expertise in promoting their mentees professionally and personally,through interpersonal engagement.They build bridges among stakeholders.With the same motto a number of tutorial meetings had been organised in the college during session2021-2022. Ms Sushila Rani(Commerce Department) is the chief tutor and Ms Anju Goel(English department),Dr. Nancy(Zoology department),Ms Nandini(Commerce department)are the committee members.
First Mentor Mentee meeting was held online on 22.11.2021 under the guidance of principal Ms Babita Verma. It was like an orientation programme for the students to make them aware of the timetable, attendance rules, disciplinary rules, different activities conducted in the college and university rules. Students were encouraged to use library, to keep surroundings clean and to save the electricity. Students were informed about the weekly workshop organised by ED Cell, Psychological counselling cell and provision of different types of scholarships. Teachers were asked to collect all the details of their Mentees and to counsel them time to time.Students were also awared about safety precautions to be used against Covid-19.
Second Mentor-Mentee meeting was held on 8.01.2022 with the agenda of filling online examination forms, discipline, to inculcate the habit of switching off the lights and fans to save electricity, to make student aware of safety measures to prevent the spread of covid-19 and solving the problems faced by the students, if any.
Third online tutorial held on 1.04.2022 was about a unique interaction program, Pariksha pe charcha in which our Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh Narender Modi addressed the students through various social media platforms. you tube link was shared among the college students and were made motivated to attend the same online program.
Fourth mentor mentee meeting was held on 29.04.2022 in the starting of the Even sem, Students were made aware of the timetable, attendance rules, disciplinary rules, different activities conducted in the college and university rules. Students were encouraged to use library, to keep surroundings clean and to save the electricity. Students were informed about the Psychological counselling cell. Teachers were asked to complete all the details of their Mentees in their registers and to counsel them time to time.Students were also awared about safety precautions to be used against Covid-19 and take covid vaccination.
Fifth online mentor mentee meeting was held on 10.06.2022. The main agenda was to motivate the students to study hard as they were giving the online exams for the last two years. They were informed about the mandatory requirements, procedure to appear in examination and conduct of EVS exams in the first week of July. Students were asked to motivate their siblings/neighbours, knowns to take admissions in the college for the UG/PG degree courses to increase the admissions in the college in the next coming session. Students were instructed to follow COVID protocol during examination.
Sixth online Mentor mentee meeting was held on 27.06.2022 in which youtube link of UGC meeting with higher institutions regarding implimentation of NEP-2020, was shared by the mentors to their mentees and were motivated to view this discussion for maximum participation.
