NSS SEVEN DAY AND NIGHT SPECIAL CAMP

Volunteers started their first day of this camp with morning prayers and then performed some yoga poses. Then after having breakfast formal inaugural of the camp was done by the officiating Principal Dr. Rajiv Chaudhary. He encouraged the students to make full use of this opportunity to render their service for the social cause in Railly village. Then after NSS program officer Dr.Kalpna (UNIT-I) and Ms. Dimple (UNIT-II)read out the aims and objectives of the seven day & night camp i.e. to create awareness about “BetiBachaoBetiPadhao, “NashaMukat Bharat”, Environmental Pollution and Stubble Burning”, “Digital India” etc. In addition to this camp also was an endeavour to achieve the objectives of NSS i.e. to understand the community in which volunteer’s work, to understand themselves in relation to their community, to develop among themselves a sense of social and civil responsibility. After lunch two lectures were organized for the volunteers. One of the lectures was delivered by Dr. Vijay Attri, Assistant Professor, Govt. College sector-1 Panchkula on physical health. He highlighted various life style related problems faced by many of us and emphasised upon the importance of regular exercise and healthy food in staying fit and healthy. Another lecture was delivered by Dr. Raj Singh, Assistant Professor GCW, Sector -14, Panchkula. He gave a motivational lecture in which he shared some of the stories of famous people like Wilma Rudolph who despite facing many problems in life confronted these with full courage and become successful in their life. He encouraged students to stay motive, have self-confidence and strong will power and use these strengths as key to tackle any problem of life. After that cultural activities were performed by volunteers like, dance, singing, reciting poems etc.
