Report on Legal Awareness and Cyber Crime Program
The Legal Literacy Cell on 16 October 2024 organized a significant program focusing on Legal Awareness Cyber Crime and Sexual Harassment in collaboration with Haryana State Commission for Women at Govt PG College for Women sec 14 Panchkula. The event aimed to empower students with knowledge about their legal rights and the necessary tools to combat cyber threats and sexual harassment.
Total 150 students participated in this program. Alka Sharma the Convenor of the Legal Literacy Cell welcomed the attendees and highlighted the objectives of the program. Principal Richa Setia provided the
opening remarks encouraging students to engage actively in discussions and utilize the knowledge gained
to protect themselves and others.
The program was graced by Renu Bhatia the Chairperson of the Haryana State Commission for Women
who emphasized the importance of legal literacy in todays digital age and crucial issues like sexual
harassment affecting women in society and stressing the need for awareness and proactive measures
against legal issues. She inspired students to be confident in difficult situations citing real life examples.
Deipa Singh an advocate at the Punjab and Haryana High Court served as the key speaker sharing
insights into current laws regarding cyber crimes and sexual harassment. She urged students to be vigilant
and informed about their rights. In the end Dr Richa Setia presented a plant as a memento to Ritu Bhatia. Dr
Naveen Dr Jyoti Dr Neelima are also present in the program.
