Planter Making Competition from Waste Plastics

As part of our college’s efforts to promote environmental awareness and sustainability, a “Planter Making Competition from Waste Plastics” was organized on 13 Nov2025 by Women Cell. The main objective of this event was to encourage students to creatively reuse plastic waste and to spread awareness about recycling and environmental conservation, and to encourage creativity and artistic expression among students
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 25 students across various departments. Participants were asked to collect discarded plastic items such as bottles, containers, and cans, and transform them into decorative and functional planters.
The event began at 12.00 P.M .with an inaugural address by Ms Teena Aggarwal . The creativity, design, usefulness, and overall presentation were the key judging criteria.
Judges for the event included Ms. Veenu Mittal and Ms. Nandini from Commerce Department. The first prize was awarded to Sneha , B.Sc. Life Sciences 3rd Year , the second prize to Deepika Sharma ,B.Sc. Life Sciences 3rd Year and the third prize to Jyoti,B.A. 2nd Year.
The Competition was a great success. It not only brought out the creativity of students but also reinforced the importance of environmental protection and sustainability. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants, judges, and coordinators by the convenor of Women Cell, Ms Latesh.
