In the gracious presence of Hon’ble Principal Dr. Ritu Yadav, the Women Studies and Development Cell ( C- Dr. Alka Sharma) organized a “Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Campaign “ on 13. 9.23. The event that was attended by around 120 students from across the streams had Mrs. Sunita Dhariwal as its Chief Guest. She is a well renowned social worker, project manager, Women TV India owner and a motivational speaker.
Using visual aids, Ms. Dhariwal interacted with the students about menstruation being a taboo in our society and how there is a need to create awareness and eradicate any kind of hesitation with regard to a process that was natural among all the women. She encouraged the students to be educated and informed about the biological concept and not shy away from sharing their experiences with not only their fellow women but also men. The event concluded with the distribution of sanitary pads amongst the students.
WSDC members contributed in making the campaign a successful one.
