The Placement Cell and Commerce Dept. of Govt. P.G. College for Women, Sector-14,Panchkula under able guidance of Principal Dr. Khushila organized two extension lectures on 29th September 2025, aimed at preparing students for various competitive examinations. The sessions were conducted by Mr. Harvinder Singh and Mr. Navneet, experts from Grace IAS Academy, Sector 32, Chandigarh. A total of 94 students from diverse academic streams actively participated in the event. The first session focused on preparation strategies for competitive exams such as CET, SSC, CGL, HCS, etc. The speakers highlighted the importance of a structured study plan, time management, and consistent practice with mock tests. They also provided insights into exam patterns, syllabus breakdown, and essential resources. The second lecture addressed how to read the newspaper effectively for competitive exams. Students were guided on identifying relevant news articles, focusing on editorials, and making concise notes for current affairs, especially for General Studies and interview rounds. Emphasis was placed on reading with a purpose and building analytical skills. The sessions were highly informative and motivational, equipping students with practical tools and techniques to enhance their exam preparedness. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, making it a highly enriching experience for all attendees. Ms. Sushila HOD Commerce dept., Dr. Madhu convenor placement cell, Dr. Isha Goyal and Ms. Latika organized the sessions.
