Women Studies and Development Cell of Govt. PG College for Women, sector -14, Panchkula has organized a series of lecture which are beneficial for creating awareness among young girl students from 07-01-2022 to 25.1.2022. These lectures were organised under the guidance of Principal Madam Ms. Babita Verma, Ms. Alka Sharma (Convenor, Women Cell) with members Ms. Madhu, Ms. Anju Goel, Dr. Pooja, Ms. Latika, Dr. Rajni, Ms. Sukriti, Dr. Kalpna and Ms. Anita Raj. On 7th Jan, the topic for the lecture was ‘’Young women’s Healthy Lifestyle” by Ms. Deepika, Expert Health coach & VLCC certified nutritionist and 145 students actively participated in the online lecture through google meet. On the second day of lecture serious lecture was given by Dr. Reema Rani (MS, MRCOG) Assistant Professor in Maulana Azad Medical college on the topic PCOD & Menstrual Hygiene, lecture was attended by 86 students through online mode. Lecture on gender Sensitization and women issues given by Dr. Anju Jagpal, Associate Professor English, Govt PG College, Ambala Cantt. On 3rd day of lecture series i.e. 10th Jan 2022. 30 students have attended the lecture. On 11th Jan the topic of lecture was Women Rights & Law against Domestic Violence by Professor (Dr.) Kavita Dull, Department of law MDU, Rohtak, 64 students have actively participated in the lecture. A stress busting session on Folk Music & Music Therapy as delivered by Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Associate Professor in Music (V) NRS Govt. College, Rohtak on the 6th day of lecture series. On 13th Jan 2022, lecture on Importance of Physical Fitness and Wellness for Females and way to Healthy lifestyle was given by Ms. Srupinder Mahal, Associate Professor in Physical Education Govt. PG College, sector-1, Panchkula. Lecture was attended by 50 students. On the eighth day of lecture series a lecture by dr mridula sharma associate professor in English, MCM DAV college for women, sector-36, Chandigarh on 14th Jan 2022. 79 students have participated in the lecture. Next day on 15th Jan 2022 lecture on the topic How to Groom Yourself? How to prepare yourself for the interview? was taken by Dr. Sarika Dhupar lecturer in biology Govt. Model senior secondary school, sector 16, Chandigarh. The session was attended by 83 students. On 17th Jan on eleventh day of the lecture series was taken by Dr. Rajni Bhala, retired principal joint secretory, SPSTI carried on the topic Women in Career and some outstanding women in India. 57 students were actively attended. The topic for the 12th day was crime against women and legal remedies given by Ms. Ritu Bahal, Addition Principal Judge, Family court Karnal. 36 students have attended the lecture. Mr. Aditya Khurana, Associate professor in mass communication and journalist, Govt. PG college, sector-1, panchkula elaborated the topic Role of Media in Women Empowerment and why Media is Necessary in everybody’s’ Life. 92 students were enrolled in the listening. The topic for the day on 20th Jan 2022, as Women Empowerment and Role of Women in serving our Country by Ms. Jasmin, former international global network ambassador for India, national award winner, Rohtak. 51 students attended the lecture. Dr. Kiran Kamboj, Registrar, Pandit Lakhmi Chand State University of performing and visual arts threw the light on the topic Portrayal of women in movies and how to learn Performing Arts. 39 students participated I the talk. The next day was devoted to the topic how to be a good writer and famous women writer of India taken over by Dr. Ashwani Shandilya, (Poet and Sahityakar) Assistant professor in Hindi DIET, sector-2, panchkula. A strength of 40 students was noted. Dr. Sailja Chabra, Associate Professor in English, Govt PG College, sector 1, Panchkula deliberated on the topic women and poetry and woman- A synonym of beauty on 24th Jan 2022. 45 students virtually attended the lecture. Dr. Sonika Sethi, Associate Professor in English enriched the knowledge of the listener on the topic Blog Writing and Creative writing on 24th Jan 2022, 2:00 pm onwards. 45 students have attended the lecture. On the last day of lecture series, the cell conducted a lecture on HPV screening and need for vaccination by Dr. Reena, Assistant Professor Maulana Medical College New Delhi on the concluding day of 25th Jan 2022. 56 students attended this online extension lecture.
