The Legal Literacy Cell of Govt. P G College for Women, Sec 14, Panchkula in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Panchkula, organized an extension lecture on "Victim Compensation under NALSA Scheme" on September 2, 2025 under the guidance of worthy Principal Dr Khushila and convener Legal Literacy Cell Ms Shivani Kaushik. The lecture aimed to raise awareness about the legal provisions and schemes available for victims of crime, particularly focusing on the compensation aspect under the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) schemes, Advocate Monika Kapil addressed the students about the legal framework and procedures for victim compensation, emphasizing the rights of victims and the role of legal authorities in ensuring justice. Participants gained a better understanding of the NALSA schemes and the process of applying for compensation, which will empower them to support victims of crime more effectively. The event highlighted the importance of legal literacy in promoting access to justice and the role of legal institutions in protecting the rights of vulnerable populations.
This extension lecture served as a valuable platform for enhancing legal awareness and promoting the welfare of victims through the provisions of victim compensation under NALSA. The program was coordinated by activity incharge Ms Shivani Singla. Around 50 students attended this event.
