Youth and Anti-Drug day celebration

On 12th August 2024, a special Youth Day celebration and Anti-Drug Day was held with the aim of promoting wellness and combating drug addiction among the youth. The event was organized by the NCORD (Narco Co-ordination Centre) In collaboration with NSS, NCC, Yoga Club, and the Family Planning Association of India (NGO). The program began with a welcome address by Dr. Alka Sharma, in-charge of the Anti-Drug Cell. After the welcome, Principal Dr Rich Setia addressed the students, encouraging them to avoid drug addiction and to incorporate yoga into their lives. Total 200 students participated in this event. Activities Organized:
1. Pledge Taking on Nasha Mukti: The event commenced with a pledgetaking ceremony organized by NCORD, where participants committed to staying away from substance abuse and promoting a drug-free lifestyle.
2. Poster Making: Participants engaged in creative poster-making activities, highlighting the dangers of drug addiction and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
3. Nukkad Natak on Drug Addiction: Under the guidance of Dr. Jyoti Sharma (NSS in-charge) and Dr. Kalpana (NCC in-charge), students performed a street play to motivate their peers, illustrating the impact of drug addiction and encouraging viewers to seek help and support.
4. Lecture on Yoga: 'Y Break': An informative session was delivered by Ms. Kamlesh Sharma on the benefits of yoga and how it can serve as a tool for stress relief and overall well-being. From this session 'Y’ break is incorporated in curriculum.
5. Yoga Demonstration: Following the lecture, a yoga demonstration showcased various poses and practices to promote physical fitness and mental clarity. 6. Walkathon: In the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, a walkathon was organized by students. Among those present were Dr. Ritu Yadav, Mr. Atul Khullar, Dr. Kavita, Dr. Sunita Rani, Dr. Naveen, Dr. Neelima, Ms. Indu, and Ms. Jasveer and others. The event successfully fostered awareness about drug prevention and the benefits of a balanced lifestyle, engaging participants through interactive and educational activities.
